Dear NC IPMA-HR Members, I am honored to serve as NC IPMA-HR President. Having had the opportunity to work with so many municipal, county, and state colleagues through my many years of NC IPMA-HR membership (since 1995), I can attest public sector human resource professionals are wonderful people. We truly are a team. Our board, officers, committee chairs, and committee members dedicate their time, energy, and talents to this organization, and for that I am especially grateful. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to be more fully engaged in NC IPMA-HR and build relationships within the NC IPMA-HR community, there is a place for you! Just reach out to me, and I will be happy to assist. As President, it is my goal to create additional value for our members. In addition to the annual conference, access to IPMA-HR website content, and IPMA-HR professional certification training opportunities, we offer periodic brief one-hour webinars on a variety of topics in coordination with our many conference sponsors and others. I hope you'll find these interesting and beneficial. The past two years wreaked havoc on our lives and individual organizations. COVID forced us to reconsider how we work, when we work, and with whom. Forced to embrace new technology and ideas, many of us were stretched beyond our own comfort levels. For all that was unpleasant about COVID, we grew as professionals and individuals. COVID was especially hard on human resource professionals. While your organizations experienced turnover and challenges, NC IPMA-HR faced unprecedented change and challenges as well. But now that the dust is settling, we welcome the opportunity to reconnect with each other and get to know new members. Thank you for the opportunity to serve; it's a joy and an honor. With Kindest Regards, Tina Cline, NC IPMA-HR President |
